Learning the various guitar scales is not usually the most fun part of learning to play the guitar, but it is required in order to use your guitar effectively and for you to be able to read music and learn where your hands need to be to make a particular sound.
Learning guitar scales the traditional way, by repeatedly moving your hands in sequence up and down the guitar shaft can be helpful but there are also some really great tools online that make learning guitar scales a little bit easier and more painless to get through.
